GitSandbox is a personal educational project. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and how you can have it removed.

What we collect

• Name and email address — provided at registration, used to identify your account.
• Password — stored as a bcrypt hash. Your plaintext password is never stored or logged.
• Lesson progress — which lessons you have completed and when.
• Session cookies — a short-lived token stored in your browser to keep you logged in. It expires after 60 days or on sign-out.

An internal account is also created on the GitSandbox git server using a anonymized username derived from your email address. This account is used to manage lesson repositories and is not visible to other users.

What we don't collect

• Payment information
• Location data
• Analytics or tracking beyond what is described above
• Any data from third-party sources

How your data is used

Your data is used solely to operate the GitSandbox service — authenticating your login, provisioning your sandbox environment, and tracking your lesson progress. It is not shared with third parties, used for advertising, or sold.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. Deletion removes your name, email address, password hash, lesson progress, session cookies, and internal git server account permanently and immediately.
